AnDS - Another Design Stuff – was the title chosen for a conference organized in collaboration with ISIA (Higher Institute for Artistic Industries) Florence to explore the world of communication related to design.
The suggestion emerged from a conversation with Mirko Tattarini, professor of strategic design at the Master Degree in Product and Communication Design. He complained of a disconnection between studies and the real experience, all those mechanisms that whoever needs to be acquainted with a creative activity, a design object or idea, has to deal with. With the intent of creating an imaginary bridge between the two worlds, he invited Silvia Rizzi at ISIA for a lecture.
Why a sole professional behind the desk when we had a world of connections to be shared?
Communication professionals at different levels were thus involved together with experts, press office or social media specialists, journalists and bloggers for a two-day conference in Florence.
Two days of meetings, case histories, special projects; a convention, but also a think-tank, a participative event and an interactive experience connecting relators with ISIA students and teachers and an audience of enthusiasts. Speakers introduced different topics of dialogue and interactive activities: scotchwall, live tweeting and pitching were just a few of the moments of informal encounters and active participation.
